You can install an app called galaxymaxhz. It can add dynamic refresh rate scalling so your display runs at 60hz when idle or playing video and at 120hz when interacting with the ui. You can also set a routine which disables 120hz when running apps like youtube, Netflix, etc. That should help with the battery effects of always running at 120hz
If you are upgrading from that option. Go for it. It shouldn’t be a problem.
