Fediverse@lemmy.world•Growing content diversity and entertainment on the fediverse - we can do it together!English
1·15 days agoThanks! This is a really important one. Only if we had a way to convert these pain points to action points and organize financial support for the effort to address them…
I must say that the masto5 post felt like really a big step in this direction, but the threadiverse has still to get the academic and institutional support mastodon has managed to achieve.

1·16 days agoI struggle to imagine what would be a possible meaningful answer.
“I’ve hand 15 posts and 6 comments in the 11 communities I moderate, but the mood on this part of the world is gloomy because of politics”?
Exactly, thanks for sharing the link. The interaction between threadiverse platforms and mastodon (sadly for pixelfed this does not work) is exactly as it is for fedigroups.social or what used to be a.gup.pe.

1·16 days agoI’m not that convinced that not responding to “how’s everybody doing with their communities” is indicative of anything.

New Communities@lemmy.world•A community to discuss about sortition, a type of governance where officials are chosen by lottery.English
1·16 days agoSame experience here. Then I learned about court juries and it kinda confirmed the idea.
Would also be nice if they start explicitly treating the threadiverse as groups. This is already doable, but some usability sweeteners would make it much more accessible. It’s an absolute win-win for everyone on the fediverse.
That’s amazing progress. My next wish: being able to see past DMs with someone.
Wow, this is exciting. Looking forward to learn quite a bit.

1·2 months agoNot that I’m getting into it, but do you have ideas for fundraising for such organisational work?
They are devs, which is different from mods. No need for the same person to do both roles. I’d even say that admins and mods should be separate.

Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•'Cooling, not a reversal' — Why Bulgaria's new Russia-friendly leader is unlikely to become EU's next Orban
41·5 months agoThe thing is that in Bulgaria current “pro-EU” politicians (think Borisov and Peevski) are so directly dependent on Putin, that anyone who is just friendly with him looks already better. I know it is a superficial observation, but this is the vote of superficial people. As a president, Radev had plenty of opportunities to substantiate his anti-corruption rethoric, and he missed them. It makes little difference whether he did it out of bad intention or inability (which is often claimed, but hard to confirm).

8·7 months agoHow I miss the “do one thing and do it well” attitude in commercial services. Why do they have to convert any nice product into a s.itshow? It can’t be that investors want good services to become worse…
From how you describe your context (similar to mine), you don’t seem to need to backup images. Few local images mean little impact of possible failures.
Fortunately AI is taking care of that on its own https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-024-07566-y
Google will never rank fediverse posts high. Said otherwise, the external incentives are not there either.

Thank you for your opinion, it is appreciated.
