Ghengis Khan is estimated to have been responsible for killing 10% of the world population, which would be more than the entire population of Europe today.
The population of europe today is more than 750 million so that can’t be right.

Dennis Villeneuve is currently untouchable in the same way that Christoper Nolan was a few years ago. For whatever reason I meshed with Nolan’s work at the time but I have been completely disenchanted by Villeneuve since Blade Runner.
The comic makes it seem more fun than it is
Are a lot of humans like this?
I like Huberman but he’s too dunked into social media and I have no interest in supplement health. He often talks like someone who spends too much time on twitter. But he’s got some solid guests and great topics that often compliment what I do with my therapist.
I’d hate for people to pick up on this thread and immediately say everything he does is useless or misinformed. I don’t listen to everything he does because they are long podcasts, and I don’t like podcasts in general, but people here can be helped by listening to some of it. Depression, menopause, emotional intelligence, motivation, sleep - well informed guests and Huberman leaves them to do most of the talking.
Definitely not a clown though. That’s a bad take.
Thanks for the jellyfin link
I’d start with a smaller one. His writing is very steady and consistent. Sometimes there are weird sexual undertones (weird in a bad way).
I’d recommend Terry Pratchett Discworld. I can’t get into King but Pratchett is good for my English soul.
Does anyone have a dead simple tutorial/webpage to setup jellyfin? I always assume it needs a dedicated NAS and I’m not going to do that. I have spare laptops.
I’m guessing that’s the 401? I know someone who used to commute on that and it sounded like fucking hell. Hours every day, in the car, driving, snacking, listening to the radio. You leave work and just get on a road in your car for hours.
People talk shit about paying a lot of money for tiny places in the city but I’d rather live in a box than commute 3-4 hours a day for 30 years.
I turned off my cellular. I’d suggest trying that first before jumping into another piece of tech.
It gets easy, manual is better because I’m more focused on everything. It doesn’t take that long to learn.
Do those really work though or do they take the edge off feeling absolute despair all the time?

Anyone who is trying to sell me something
What’s this video talking about OP?
Romulus is made for new audiences and I think only missing context is the goo/engineer lore. The next movie in this reboot series could explain that without people having to go back and watch Prometheus. If people go in blind they won’t notice all the scenes and dialogue that are copied from the original.
The sci-fi/alien/space action thriller is the main selling point and if a person is already into that they may as well watch all of them. If they are already lukewarm on the concept then I wouldn’t drag them through the whole series. There are better movies to watch.
I stay at home to work on cool projects and I go to the office to get through mountains of boring administrative tasks and socialize. The whole time at work issue being discussed isn’t as important as labour productivity.
Yes. I actually shared it before I started reading, and ya it’s bad.
Cryptocurrency is a nightmare space right now and I’m not sure how long or how it will recover. Particularly alt-coins. I don’t have a problem with the other stuff.
I’m not sold on decentralized infrastructure yet. I tried Presearch, and it’s neat, but a lot of this things are like… when is it never going to be niche or a passing interest?
