31·8 months agoSaudi Arabia has plenty of soft and hard power too. Possibly more so than UK. I think we’re getting overly dramatic. UK doesn’t have enough pull to start extraditing thousands of people for not complying with their weirdo laws.

123·8 months agoI’m confused, why are non-UK instances banning UK users? Are their admins located in the UK? Is anyone afraid of being extradited to UK because of their local laws? Do you block Saudi Arabia too because you can’t guarantee blasphemy laws are going to be upholded?
I found capsules to be an absolute pain to load on the account of shaky hands. If you’re using capsules on a stem loaded vaporiser you have to try it with MAD Heaters Reload or one if it’s many recent clones (like 420vape Stash Tube in Europe or Sneaky Pete Travel Storage Debowler in US). This way you can load the stem directly by pushing and twisting into weed stored in one of two containers (middle/bottom). Once you’re done vaping you drop AVB into top container that has a debowler inside. It’s a game changer even if you don’t use it with butane vape.
It’s way too easy to vape lots of weed with TM2. You can pop in as much weed as you want into the stem / WPA adapter like t_bowl (since they’re adjustable) and extract everything in one go. It makes things extremely efficient but if you’re able to vape 0.5g at once it gets a bit too tempting sometimes.

Television@piefed.social•‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ English-Language Adaptation In Works At Netflix From Leila Gerstein & Jerry Bruckheimer TV
4·8 months agoThe issue with current autistic leads in series like Good Doctor or Extraordinary Attorney Woo is that they are almost level 3 (aka profound autism) while also being savants which doesn’t really represent much of autistic people (and savants are even less). I don’t want to marginalise those people but they’re quite overrepresented in media about autism while also being less than 10% of all autistic people and that leads to regular people being really confused as to what autism is.
I think this is what’s behind something that’s almost a meme by now among autistic people - when you tell someone you’re autistic without flapping your hands and without difficulty in stringing a coherent sentence you’re going to be replied with „but you don’t look autistic”. This also leads to many people going undiagnosed and without support, sometimes for their entire lives.

Television@piefed.social•‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ English-Language Adaptation In Works At Netflix From Leila Gerstein & Jerry Bruckheimer TV
5·8 months agoThe show is quite fun even if uneven but it suffers from the usual autism being off the charts on stereotypical traits without any nuance. I wonder if we’ll ever see an accurate representation of autism on TV, other than The Rehearsal, that is.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Nintendo can disable your Switch 2 for piracy in the U.S., but not in Europe, as confirmed by its EULAEnglish
2·8 months agoFrom Nintendo’s point of view hacked device is a hacked device. Whether you use it to pirate or hack in multiplayer, they don’t really care, you’re not supposed to do either and they take that device off their network. I usually pay for games because second hand market exists but I also won’t condemn piracy because some can’t afford even that. It’s the expectation that a company like Nintendo has to take it under the guise of consumer protection that I find funny, bad political takes too.

41·8 months agoYou can still play your Switch games online after getting banned using LDN bridges. The best way to avoid getting banned from a Nintendo service is not to hack your device.

73·8 months agoThey are denying you access to the service rather than your hardware. I prefer how Nintendo goes about it (locking hacked device) compared to Valve or Sony where your entire game library gets locked. As someone with a banned Switch I think that’s fair, I can pirate things on it anyway. Nobody said piracy has to be easy and I enjoy a bit of cat and mouse.

Went from Pax 3 to TinyMight 2 which was just too much of a good thing so I sold it. These days I use manual vapes because they offer small chamber size and require a bit of a ritual to get going. Tempest and Dani Fusion 2 offer all kinds of experiences I like and The Wand makes them very consistent in results. I succumbed to VAS again though and Tempest 2 is on the way.

Study recognises very strong correlation between poor family relations and poor mental health outcomes but doesn’t really attempt to separate it from smart device ownership. I’d be interested in seeing difference in outcome for a group affected by other potential causes and smart device ownership before jumping to conclusions like in the title of the post.
