I’d second this. Victoria metrics and Victoria logs is orders of magnitude better than Prometheus and Loki. However, I’d switch fluent for Vector for logs collection.
I wouldn’t say the privacy issues are moot when running public services, as metadata is quite valuable. Cloudflare will get a lot of information like who your visitors are, how often they visit, how long are they staying on a page yada yada

This tempted me to try it. But I couldn’t get it to work in my homelab where outbound traffic is completely blocked. Any chance we can get a completely offline version of this?

You can give this a shot, it’ll cache the until you are back home then it’ll upload all of it. Plus it barely uses any battery. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.eneiluj.nextcloud.phonetrack/

Migrated from NC to FileBrowser Quantum and its super light weight. https://github.com/gtsteffaniak/filebrowser

I’ve been waiting for the L7 host policies before applying it to the host, looks like beta is here. I’ll give that a shot.

Nice work! This was the reason I moved my homelab stack to k8s with Cilium.

Why not do something that’d solve this once and for all like:
And this should be for all vehicles irrespective of country of origin or make
It’s great, I spent 2 years finding perfect CSI for homelab and landed on Piraeus. The best part is you get full read performance of your local disk so I didn’t have to use 10G, write are limited by network link between nodes. But that hasn’t been a problem for me. Also, they’re super responsive for any issues/bugs you hit.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about this.

https://www.usememos.com/ is another option that’s super light weight and self hostable.

For that part, I’d be equally scared of any company, no matter it’s origin. So as solution, I’d prefer if we get laws that ensures there is option for concerned users to completely disable remote telemetry. I don’t need my car internet connected just so I can see the tire pressure in an app, I’d rather a car not share my location 24/7 and driving data only for companies to sell it to cheapest bidder.

Oh I wasn’t aware of Vial. Thank you for introducing me. I’m using Cheapino so its not supported but I’ll see if I can make it.
Had the same experience when I was testing zed. Was thinking it would be a lot better since it’s written in rust but there wasn’t any difference in memory/CPU usage between it and VSCodium, which is electron app.
