If someone prefers Omarchy’s defaults, setup or workflow, that’s enough of a reason to use it.

And if I find out they’re a Nazi, that’s enough reason not to. And in this case there’s so little friction and it’s so simple to not use it, that it’s a no brainer.

If I can avoid supporting a Nazi this easily, without altering a single noticeable thing about my life, it would be irresponsible not to.

There is a level of friction associated with changing anything like this for ideological reasons, and everyone has to have their own ways of deciding which ones are worth pushing against, according to them.

“Avoid the Nazi that puts out a slightly modified version of Arch,” is just a no brainer. It takes no effort or energy whatsoever to avoid having that in your life.

And if people really think Omarchy has become some political project, then fork it.

There’s literally nothing to fork. From what I understand, it in and of itself, isn’t even distinct enough from Arch to be considered a fork.

And how about we stop discouraging people from standing by their values?

Well it kind of depends on where you live and what language you’re speaking as to whether or not we’re referring to the same group (or if your country even has a proper analog).

For example, France has both the police and the gendarme, the latter of which (to my understanding) is more militarized, allowing the former to often be much better liaisons to the public in situations that might not require force.

They also didn’t completely abandon all spirit of comradarie as a nation after their revolution.

Police in the US help landlords forcibly evict tenants. It’s literally one of the job responsibilities.

I don’t think that comparison conveys just how bad this is. I’m not talking about their egos (which of course are massive) here.

This is about fundamentally changing the way society is organized back to something that resembles feudalism.

This is not paranoid conspiracy theory stuff, this is the explicit goal of many, by their own admissions (e.g. Curtis Yarvin, Peter Theil, etc)Then there are many more who are “proteges” of these people who maybe hide the “if you elect me I will do everything I can to kill your democracy” slightly better (e.g. JD Vance, Russ Vought, etc).

The latter are able to get elected and/or appointed to powerful positions because the electorate doesn’t know what “feudalism” or “serfdom” actually mean anyway.

Next thing you know, we’re all fucking serfs.
