2·6 days agooh my god. i didn’t ask about polling. i said they came out on top of of what, and you said polling. and i said what the fuck is that going to do, not “what is polling can you explain”

1·6 days agothat’s not an answer. you can’t say what you they’re getting out of this because the answer is fuck-all. oh yeah, “political strategy” from the party that snatches defeat from the jaws of victory all the fucking time, that’s reassuring…

6·7 days agooh i forgot they’re just passive observers to what people think about who to blame. it’s not like any of them have access to the media or a microphone or anything. if internal poll showed that; that only proves this is a massive messaging disaster from the democrats.

8·7 days agoyes, so why quit? this is snatching an L from a win-win situation: by holding out they were either gonna force republicans to cave and get what they want, which would allow them to brag about bringing the party in power to their knees for the good of the people, making the republicans look weak af, or they would not cave but prolong this shutdown which makes republicans less popular every minute and allow dems to run on it every election going forward.
this was the worst possible outcome.

9·7 days agowhat is this cope dude. they held for 40 days and got zilch. drew attention to what, the fact that they can literally do nothing, like absolutely nothing of value at all, in any circumstance? mission accomplished if that was the goal.
also raise whose awareness? who’s gonna do anything? it’s their job to do things in congress; whose awareness is gonna make a change? what are the newly aware people supposed to do now? storm the capitol?

201·7 days agohow long should they hold out? until republicans cave or the the inevitable regime change. what’s the point of holding out for any period of time if you’re going to cave eventually? this was literally the only leverage they had. now they have signalled that they don’t stand for anything and republicans never need to negotiate on anything ever again.
whenever i hear/see the word tuppence i think of Thank Goodness You’re Here. which is not very often cause it happened once since I played the game and it was just now. but still.

here’s what I could read:
i am endless tree of time. i am become destiny. i still forget where i parked my car sometimes.
marriage is not an achievement and there’s a housing crisis. also looking to get something doesn’t mean you’re even close to getting it but whatever even if they did have those, it’s not in any way an indictment on you.
marriage doesn’t mean anything unless you have someone you want to be married to. the right time is when you’re ready to do it and it makes sense, not a specific age. if you’re a man, you’re even more free to wait as the societal pressure (or biological, if one wants kids) isn’t nearly as high as it is for women. not that it should be a deciding factor anyway for women but I’m just saying.
from what I’ve seen from people around me, being unmarried is infinitely better than marrying the wrong person.
take a breath, do right by yourself. 30 is ridiculously young to have “wasted your life”. lots of people find themselves in their 30s. as it is usually a time you start getting your shit together, now you will have an opportunity to actually think about what you want to do and how to do it.
