Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is Kanye West a Nazi? Should usernames such as "kanyewestlover67" be allowed?
425·2 days agoNo, the NSDAP was disolved in 1945. Kanye West was only born in 1977, so he couldn’t have been a member.
Who even wants that? the skin is the best part!

No, leaving a comment with a swear is the swearing equivalent …

14·2 days agoI KNOW they’re the only person reading my comment reply in an older thread, and they downvote me
I don’t think you do. See, you can sort your feed my “new comments” so I quite often see old threads pop up where two people suddenly started a conversation again. Sometimes I check it out and vote on it.
But you could actually literally just look up who downvoted you, then you’d actually know. Votes are public. Then again, you really should just stop caring.

31·2 days agoYou don’t. But your continued bickering with people brought this thread back up and brought to light some worthwhile comments. Replying to you was more of an after thought (also most “new comments” where located in your thread). But it seems obvious that you’re quite feedback resistant. So you do you.

31·2 days agowe can’t even talk about spiders without someone making jokes about how shitty women are.
Funny thing coming back to this thread and answering a few more replies about people’s admiration for spiders, it kind of hit me that once you collapse your initial comment about the light-hearted joke, people can actually just talk about spiders. Like all the off topic talk was caused by you and no one else.
The initial joke is even biologically accurate.
The cute ones tend to have higher career salaries on average, so they are able to attract female spiders to mate with.
Not in all, but some (very prominently the “peacock spiders”), the males absolutely have to be cute and perform a literal dance … with a high chance of getting eaten by the female if they don’t live up to her standards.
So yeah, that joke is actually pretty good if you knew a fucking thing about spider biology. But you had to come here and inject your brand of self-righteous feminism into it. Great job.

1·2 days agoThere are some jumping spider chonkers in the genus Phidippus, but generally the family is on the smaller side. North America is hogging all the big jumpers.

2·2 days agoIt’s actually both! Most spiders will extend their leg using “hydraulics” which is really just their blood (but called hemolymph). But the contraction is usually done by flexor muscles. That’s also the reason dead spiders curl up. No more blood pressure means the muscles win.

What is “setting the the off at 350” supposed to mean?
