Listen, I can’t lie…my iPhone X is the best phone I’ve owned. Bought in 2017 and still going strong with promised support until 2026/27. I still have fond memories of “paying” my parents back for it (I was child labour 😀)
Someone correct me if I’m wrong here, but anyone feel like Apple is slowly having an…over-engineering problem?
The Apple Vision Pro, this… the new iPad Pros with FUCKING M4 CHIPS THAT ARE RUNNING IPADOS (???)
Like what is happening in their product development department lately?
Seriously, some of the comments and their phrasing actively gave me flashbacks to my days on stan twitter.
We’re purity testing Mozilla now? What’s up with that…There are no “good” or “bad” guys, this isn’t a morality play. It’s fucking browsers, bro, and to equate Mozilla to Microsoft or Google is insane.
I was wondering why there was a can of Milkis in between all these extremely Nordic-like dishes LOL
I really liked Paris 🥲 I did go during the end of October though, so that might’ve have been a factor. People still didn’t want to talk to me in French, but they weren’t rude about it.
My favourite place to visit in France was La Rochelle, I feel like I got most of the benefits of visiting Coastal France but without the Marseille/Toulon/Monaco crowds (yes I know, Monaco is not France).
skibidi cap no rizz
our brains are mush fr 😭
Not sure about the divine being thing, but he has been spewing “We need to make more kids to preserve our culture” shit at far right rallies so…
Take that as you will.
The comments here and technology community on lemmy.ml vs the ones that on the technology at lemmy.world thread sure were an interesting contrast when it was first posted…
But anyways, this is great news.

I meant the OP who screengrabbed the tweet for us non-Tweeters 😭
The hero we needed 🙏
No, in regards to Elon, he has always been a weirdo with women, starting with his first wife according to this essay published in 2010.
I really urge people to read it if you haven’t already, there are some great tidbits in there like him saying “I’m the alpha” as they were having their first dance at their wedding (hilarious stuff).
None of the claims in the Verge article are surprising if you ever read Justine Musk’s essay.
I’m back home visiting Canada right now, and seeing this too. Children of immigrants/2nd gen immigrants using the same talking points as fascists about how there’s too many immigrants being let in, or not “the right kind”.
Astounding how they don’t understand the cognitive dissonance of that.
I linked you the wrong thing, sorry 🤦 I meant to link a reddit thread discussing employee RSU rates at Nvidia, but now I can’t find it because Google AI has decided that I don’t need to see that anymore.
I’m sure you can find it if you google (again sorry), but there was definitely a lot of mixed bag experiences on it, you’re right. The people who got in by 2015-2016 and got some seniority are making out like bandits now.
Hmm, interesting, are you able to expand on that at all? The people I know who are retiring have been there a decade or so, I’m wondering what newer hires are experiencing.
I don’t think many people would claim overall valuation has much of anything to do with the value labor brings to an organization.
Apologies, can you clarify what exactly you mean by this? Because when I say their labour is not being valued, I do extend that to the Wall Street orgs that are doing the evaluations. They look at the “product” on offer, not the people actually working and developing it.
Are you saying because stock prices aren’t steady, we can’t correlate that to salaries?
Very true. I personally know two people who were at Nvidia who have retired/are in the process of leaving now, and it hasn’t been a hassle for them personally. That obviously doesn’t speak for everyone ofc.
I also think Nvidia wants to buy back as many shares as possible from their employees like every other big public tech giant is doing right now.
I don’t know if Lemmy is the demographic for this movie. My pre/tween nieces and their friends were definitely excited for “the Inside Out” sequel, and the older one has already gone to see it twice.
