I didn’t mean to cause any confusion, but what I said before was utter bullshit.

Exactly. As far as Linux has come in terms of ease of desktop use and hardware compatibility, there is still a barrier in knowing how to know which flavor is right for you and, almost more importantly, why that flavor is right.
The kernel is too old for newer AMD gpu drivers to work, but switching to a newer kernel isn’t too hard. I had to when I built a new computer last winter, but I have also used various *nixes for a good long time.
Knowing how to discover you need a newer kernel is a bit tough for recent convert, though.
Note to anyone heeding this advice: it has to be a metal water pipe, no plastic.
They didn’t give you shit. You paid them for a service. Corps are not your friends.
Male gorillas and lions both top out around 500lbs. Do you think you could kill a cat the same size as you if that cat wanted you dead? With your bare hands?
Paralyzing is super broken in Skyrim. It doesn’t actually matter how long the target is paralyzed, because paralyzing them at all causes them to fall, starting a lengthy stand-up animation, during which they’re vulnerable. Hit them, they fall. They start to get back up, so you hit them more. Eventually, they stay down.
My cat is a sweet baby, until you pet her 1/4 inch too close to the line near her belly that’s invisible and keeps moving. When you do that she turns into a furry squirming angry thing that’s sharp on 5 of its 6 points.
Shit, I’m a dog person and you’ve got me rethinking things.
If it’s big and metal there’s a scrapyard that will, at the very least, take it off your hands for free. Free metal is free metal. Getting the big metal thing to the scrapyard is another story.
Dont add to the problem. Just buy some headphones or earbuds.
The best dog I ever had was a pit. Sweet as pie, just wanted to cuddle and love. We chose him because he was a big meaty guy with the most adorable face you’d ever seen, and because he needed a home ASAP. We’d take him on walks and people would cat call him from passing cars, or literally stop us and ask if they could dog-sit. He spent nearly a decade with us, just loving and farting and cuddling and snoring.
He really didn’t need any help to become a great dog, except that I needed to train him that the cat was a friend and not something to chase and put our mouth on. That took all of a weekend, and that was after he’d been abandoned and abused for half a year before we got him. I know it’s not true for every individual, but many times all a dog really needs a a good home with people that love it.
Hey everyone, make sure you aren’t doxxing yourself. Comments in the Fediverse can be very hard to delete.
Drives do this on their own.
If a bunch of enthusiasts are simply forgetting their basic post-OC troubleshooting and causing tons of RMAs… well that’s just funny.
Ah, the Harrison Bergeron school of parenting.
Do you have a full complement of toes to prove it?
With a mirror, you do not have to refocus your eyes to a close distance and then refocus back to a farther one. The time it takes to do this is palpable and adds to the time you’re not as aware of your surroundings as you could be. At 70mph, it’s a lot of distance you’re flying blind.
Hard disagree. Modern dash displays give tons of useful information that would be very hard to display legibly with dials. The flexibility they offer is good too, often having more than one dash layout. Nav screens are also extremely useful. Going anywhere and never getting lost? Get outta here.
And rear camera? Don’t get me started on how a little dirt destroys your rear view until you pull over to clean it or how they represent a more difficult scenario for your eyes, increasing the amount of time you don’t have your eyes on the road every time you check it. Unless you mean a back up camera and not a replacement for a rear view mirror, in which case yes those are super awesome.
That’s the biggest thing. apt install xyz works on my N100 based box every time I expect it will, but it was always a crapshoot on a Pi. If you don’t need GPIO you don’t need a Pi.
