  • lichess integration so every unresolvable argument can be decided by a chess duel. A bot reacts when it’s called by a command (plus arguments to customize the game) and drops a link (only OP can access and play, others join as spectators). Results are then posted as a reply. It’s not possible atm, but I guess lichess devs are based and won’t mind a little customization on their side for that silly matter. Federating with them would be a way to null many people’s bingo cards.

  • Deeper intergration with p2p file sharing\streaming-oriented sites and protocols, e.g. torrents, but decentralized too. Think like Blizzard with their p2p acceleration of downloads using other people’s downloaded game. Basically, making your own PC a source of content for those accesing instance. May probably ease traffic reqs for instances and make them more reliable under ddos.

Infrastructure for old-fashioned game servers’ communities, like those for Minecraft. Login with your fediverse account, one-click joining server, creating federated networks of them with theoretical migration of progress\playtime\achievements. It can make this way of multiplayer gaming convinient again. Yet again, it needs specifically tailored games\clients.

Mapping and geocaching communities. A network of overlaying local map-canvases that people can interact with by adding favorite routes, comments, points of interest.

Books and articles shared between repositories of different universities\libraries.

  • They don’t have much power to down multiple places so they targeted one to show off, watch our reaction and see how vulnerabilities get fixed. It’s probably one person or a thread on some chan-board taking offense at LW\Lemmy for some reason, and c/shitposting could be taken by activity\moderators count metrics rather than for having something against it alone. They did damage and locked community, but what’s next? If they are indeed like old boards’ posters, methodically flooding communities one after another doesn’t make sense and gets old really quick if they can’t do something more atrocious, achieve new goal or find another exploit. That’s done already.

  • Scandinavian stuff is like a magnet for nazi idiots. Vikings, runes, groups like Burzum (see Varg Vikernes), white majority in the country, nortern nature, isolation and safety to form clubs or even parties for them. It’s like a Disneyland for him.

And after a while, when he was deported, he probably wanted to get back, as in his country nazism is controlled and only useful, submissive strays are safe to be. Becoming too influential or talking against the party line is a punishable offence. At least a couple of big neonazi\alt-right turds got suicided in recent decade for acting up, and I wasn’t following them closely. If only it wasn’t in history books.

  • Subscribing to a multireddit as a community being implemented and promoted as a default experience may solve it. Idk if it should be on Lemmy’s or client’s side, but different communities forming a community-verse that’s subscribable with one tap is, for me, the next stage of fediverse. If they are federated and cache each other, it should be possible to form a united feed. Best case, if you can make just a link combining them into one, so it’s easy to share. It would fulfill this task without multiposting.

Browsing porn, for once, doesn’t really work for me. On Reddit, I did a multi of things I enjoy to combine them, and switch to it without changing accounts. Now I either browse All-feed of porno instance seeing things I’m not into or go to exact user or community. It’s far from what I enjoyed previously. And autorepost bots don’t help it too.

IDing and combining posts into one is not fixing the problem, but covering it under a rug. The best case is to eradicate the very need to post the same meme, article or nude into two communities and then ban spammy accs. At least that’s what I wish for.

  • No argument there, friend. Watching them back-to-back on a movie night is a wonder. Reiteration of a fence-jumping gag, connecting these two movies, is so sweet of a detail.

Of Hot Fuzz, I loved the actor who played the supermarket’s boss. His delivery of another chilling comment… Gosh, I can’t see how it’d work without him for he kills it. Some people I showed it for the first time only got into it because of him setting the tone and promising some big reveal.

And the starting sequence, as well, is a classic. I’ve seen people having it in their 101 on filmmaking, and it’s not wrong.

  • What this actually shows is that Russia doesn’t even feel the need to pull out its modern equipment, they’re clearing out their old inventory the exact same way NATO is.

Why? Do they enjoy dragging this conflict for more than a year? Is there some reason to why they don’t use some sci-fi orbital blaster?

If you lived there, Ukraine or Russia, doesn’t matter, and have served, you’d knew how deeply you are wrong. Bet you didn’t, and I did. Post-soviet army culture is what makes me suspect they don’t have anything breathtaking you think they have in worthy quantities.

Opposing western propaganda is one thing. Not taking a moment to understand you are high on russian one is another. Just take a glance at this quote of yours and say it’s not copium.

  • Snatch is outstanding. The scene with a replica gun vs deagle, the robbery by noob thugs… I laugh even at my memories of them.

But I’ll take Shawn of the Dead. Cool direction and awesome cast making a great apocalyptic comedy movie. It’s humor may be too dry for some, but if you are into this kind of jokes (is it brittish humor?), it’d blow you away. Watching it with my buddy back then made some of it’s gags into our convos.
