(Not as scary as I look, I promise)
Lemmy ML got slow and gummy right after I posted this, should I delete, or am I just being paranoid? And at least three downvotes; should I not have asked?
Hi Nate (@alphapuggle@programming.dev), I finally got myself switched over to Graphene, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to install the extracted apk file, and was wondering how you managed to get it working.
(Note that this is for Typewise Offline, which is a paid version of the regular free Typewise that has more features.)
If I can’t get it to work, I’ll have no scruples pirating it since I already paid for it.
Welcome one, welcome all 👍
I’ve got Keepass for password manager and Mullvad for VPN, and both have worked out really well for me so far. What I haven’t been able to find is a good alternative to Proton Drive. For aliases I use Firefox Relay.
You know what would be really great? If Thunderbird actually had its own email service (@thunderbird.net) and not just a client. When they were switching K9 Mail over to Thunderbird mobile, it seemed like there might have been the slightest hint on their blog that they were at least considering it (or maybe I dreamed it). Might be a good source of income for Mozilla too…🤔
Supposedly rclone can work with Proton Drive, but for me at least, it seemed way too complicated to set up.
As a Linux person, I, too, am somewhat tired of being treated like a second-class user. Having no Linux client for Drive is a real pain.
Mullvad VPN has worked well for me.
Beatport, HDtracks, & Juno Download all look promising—they even have my relatively obscure 90s music!—thanks! 👍
Of the two that you’ve had dealings with, do they let you download all the album tracks at once, or do they force you to download them one by one, or else, even worse, to use some special proprietary downloader thingy?
EDIT: The other thing I didn’t like about 7digital was when they switched from their old payment system to PayPal; with all the various browser tweaks on FF I had in place, bouncing between the two sites to pay and then claim my purchase would frequently cause problems.
Putin’s (very) useful idiot is now in the process of completing his work destroying the US federal government. Hope state governments can pick up the slack, because they’ll have to.
EDIT: And, surprise! Red states are more dependent on federal funding than blue states are.
🙁 Crap, didn’t see that part.
EDIT: Also, another thing I hate about most sites that sell ebooks is that they’re rarely explicit about what their file formats are.

Hey, how did you get hold of my passphrase?! 😵
“Does your tobacco taste different lately?”
Has a certain ring to it 👍 (Should we vote on this? Can we vote on this? Probably would want to get the ok first from the Admins since it is their baby).
Snaggletooth is kind of scary-looking 😱🙀, but ok!
From Wikipedia: “It was later suggested by some that the name originated from the phrase “lemmy a quid 'til Friday” because of his alleged habit of borrowing money from people to play slot machines.”

However, I would suggest that if you do decide to use this that you pick one or two of your favorite periodicals and either donate or subscribe to them. The Guardian and your local paper might be two good choices.
Also, if you have uBlock, turning off javascript can sometimes defeat a paywall.
