yeah, I agree that starting slow sounds better. Especially considering the current activity in this community, weekly sounds too much. Even monthly can be challenging depending on how busy someone is (I know I will even struggle with one month time :D)

I would say, just give it a try and see how it goes :)

I would love to see more activity in this community so I like the idea! I know of zineuary, which basically is creating zines in January.

So are you saying to have a theme for every month or have a themend month every few months? And then have weekly topics during that month?

I love how nerdy it is. And typewriters are so cool. I thought about getting it, but sadly not shipping to my location :(

Same here, I am going to give a few of these a try! I really want to get into it more :)

I have actually paid for zines, but we’re talking like 2-3€, which I think is fair and to me feels more like a little donation to an artist. I give it gladly as support.

But I’ve also seen photo zines for 20€ and…while I understand that people want to put their photos on nice paper or let them print, it does not feel like a zine anymore? It is self-published, yes. But it feels too professional if that makes sense.

Personally, I feel like sharing, trading and just putting them out in the world feels the best.

Oh I love this! And it is a great way to journal and keep the memories of all the travels and important events.

And see, I always feel boring because I just write to journal. I was already proud when I had one train ticket from my last travel, which I could put inside my journal :D

I journal mostly because I like writing and the ritual of sitting down (usually with a hot chocolate) and thinking about what is going on inside my head. It’s like someone asking “how was your day” and you tell them. Sometimes nothing special, sometimes a lot and sometimes you think it has not been much, but once you start it all falls into place and the thoughts and emotions start to come up. I don’t do it daily, but multiple times per week.

There are many ways to journal. You can use prompts, if you are unsure what to write about. It can be more shallow, like what has happened during the day. Or more deep to explore your feelings. Some like to track what’s going on in their life and it’s actual closer to a logbook. But that’s fine as well. It has to fit for you after all and will probably change as you go along and get more comfortable with it.

And, to be honest, sometimes it’s a good excuse to buy that pretty notebook I saw in the store…

I am glad to see it resonates so well. Hope comes in many forms for me. Sometimes it’s optimisms, and sometimes it really just is a way of defiance. I just refuse to let go of it.
