I think it’s one of the most critical fields of medicine/science in modern day. It feels like we are finally starting to take steps towards being able to cure people of genetic diseases through gene therapy and stem cell research. The difference between someone having sickle cell and not, is only one codon. A single piece of DNA. I’m really hoping I get to see a cure of some sort.
