Journalistic skepticism isn’t magically exempt when someone dies
Like any criminal enterprise, the C-suite gang look out for one another
I just wish class solidarity was as popular at the bottom end of town.
Why is it that I feel, even if had no other impact on my work productivity; my employer would fire me if I were arrested and spent a few days in jail for DUI
or am I just being silly?
It’s Minnesota, getting a DUI is practically a rite of passage. Also, the C-suite looks out for its own.

I worked for a company owner that wouldn’t hire you if you had a DUI and would check yearly, firing you if you had one. This included everyone.
how can we get that mugshot?
“In April of 2017, the same month he became CEO of UnitedHeathcare’s Medicare & Retirement business, Thompson pled guilty to drunk driving, for which he served a couple days in jail at the Hennepin County Adult Corrections facility in Minnesota and later probation.”
If it isn’t already public, you could likely get it through a FOIA request.
Holy shit! Imagine if he killed a family. Wait. Imagine if he killed another family
I hope those “Journalists” at least have the decency to feel gross while carrying out the orders of their masters.
The journalists who do that are black-listed from professional work and now have to give overly self-censored presentations on YouTube where they have to pray they won’t be flagged for something that could be mistaken for a vague reference to… anything negative.
I hate how Youtube is so censored that it basically has more rules than Cable TV
This is why we should support independent platforms like Nebula.
It’s hilarious how the moderators are Lemmy, specifically world, or removing anything about this. I’ve gone back to update several comments just to find the entire post was removed.
Seems like the new tactic is: let them say whatever they want but remove it later because moderation is too hard on a comment by comment basis
Ugh, is Lemmy.world turning into the new Reddit already?
Yeah kinda. Shady shit coming from world, politics, and news communities.
The others don’t seem as bad. It’s mostly about 5 or 6 very active mods.
Sadly yes, but hey, there are other instances
There are no such thing as Journalism anymore.
Decent work from the ex- interceptor!
we need to deploy the “he was no angel” tactic the media usually uses against victims of police violence.
