That’s the relevance and context of this comic strip, when it was first published in the 80’s people hadn’t heard of bungee jumping nor did it exist as far as I know, but people did see Nat Geo’s documentaries.

I remember meticulously measuring the vines for this comic.
Definitely looks too long.
And there’s the whole matter of the giant tree next to it.
The way the wines are tied, he’ll smash right into the tree
No he won’t. He’ll hit the ground head first before that. The vine would need to be shorter to swing him into the tree.
Is that the joke or am I tired?
Also the vines would glide down a bit on the branches if they were shorter I bet ^^
