Like, you can probably find users/subs about universities/fields and actually find people in them to respond. Lemmy is great, but good luck finding a mass of discussion around a niche location/field.
Reddit is horrible and deteriorating, yes, but still.
Well other than politics reddit is quite good. It’s the best for asking stuff about unis, degrees and jobs

I have reddit turned shit in the recent years. And they even banned for saying my country needs gender neutral laws. so yeah I guess overall it’s bad
No it isn’t. You can’t talk freely in there at all without being banned.
