Nothing changes until an innocent is violently murdered. Yet, there’s no protected bike lane, it’s just “Good luck, we painted a sign on the road!”
So does putting bike lanes in the middle of the road, actually show improvements? I know where I live, mother fuckers use turn lanes as passing lanes, so they would easily use these as well….
If it’s just paint it’s not protection.
Declaring space for bikes is a start, but until there’s a real barrier to protect cyclists (and even pedestrians) it’s just a suggestion that drivers don’t run you down.
it took me a moment to realize what you said and had to doubletake on the picture…
why the fuck is the unprotected bike lane in the middle of the road?
edit: also, double yellows on only one side. i understand its just paint, but still :/
The road is now one way and the bike lane goes against the one way flow.
Still not great, but a slight improvement.
the lanes look like
| car ^ | bike v | car ^ |
i have no idea why this is a thing
