I usually want the context too, there’s usually more to the story than whatever helps the bias of who is publishing it …. But in this case we have a pattern of clear violations of the constitution and human rights, clear disregard of laws, clear pattern of brutality, abuse of authority, inconsistent enforcement with favoritism by an enforcement agency that is there illegally.
There is no trust left. There is no good will remaining in their reputation. There is no reason to expect their narrative to be transparent, honest, or legal. It’s possible this case won’t be so outrageous with the rest of the story, but I’m past caring, past expecting immigration enforcement to be law abiding or to have any positive chaterisyics. I understand that’s giving up, it’s just increasing the divisiveness, but it’s one of the things they seem to want and they’ve succeeded.
My issue is less that I need context for myself and more that I don’t like the lack of context from the perspective that people who still haven’t seen the violence may question the circumstances.
