History tends to show the cultural memory for stuff like this has a shelf life. It’s a little convenient for me to say that my recollection is that it’s often about 80 years, because we happen to be 80 years after the end of WW2 right now. But I do feel I’ve seen that number before for this. It’s not that everyone has forgotten over 80 years, but that enough people have either forgotten or changed their minds or softened a bit.
Well my point stands because the ADL and other pro-Israel groups constantly bring up the holocaust and anti-semiticism all the time. So there’s not much opportunity to “forget” that it happened.
