I see this going one of two ways: either UBI becomes the standard or people continue to work like serfs in the fields, having no attachment to their labour, and under constant threat of being punished and/or replaced. Escapism will continue to be a thriving industry, as people immerse themselves in distractions, as an antidote to workplace alienation.
