MTV of all places played Float On and Maps back to back and I was floored. Float On caught my attention, Maps knocked me on my ass.

I went and saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and TV in the Radio play a free show after work around this time and it was great. Miss those days, but the music still works when I need it.
Very similar here, both of them really made an impression on me that summer. I remember being an awkward teenager standing in a record shop (feeling entirely not cool enough to be there) and buying my first Modest Mouse album.
