The Parti Québécois (PQ) is poised to win the upcoming provincial election on Oct. 5
Over the past year, the PQ has been publishing chapters of its “Blue Book,” a formal plan for how an independent Quebec would function.
However, Chapter 22, “Relations with First Nations and Inuit,” is currently a blank page with the promise that the chapter would be published “sometime in the summer of 2026.”
The PQ are really sleeping on the opportunity to do reconciliation better than the feds who constantly dropped the ball. Offer better deals, give away some land, sign new treaties… That legitimacy is just on the table and its a good thing to do for its own sake.

This is why 95% of indigenous voters rejected quebec separatism in the last referendum. Chiefs argued a divisible canada means a divisible quebec and promised to separate from quebec in kind. This is arguably the real reason separatism died down.
