Today I made a batch of refried beans I could use to make some freezer burritos. But I didn’t make freezer burritos.
But I was hungry. So I took some of those beans and added a little bit of smoked cheddar and made a burrito and then crisped it up with some butter.
Is it lazy despite making refried beans from scratch? Yes. Is it tasty? Yes.
Cost per person; It’s 4:47 in the morning. Who cares?
I actually did something similar. Made a batch of beans, rice, and ground beef for a recipe. Not sure how but, doubled the recipe. Idk, I was tired man. So I’ve just been rolling that mix up in tortillas and enjoying my oops.
So how do you make refried beans?
Cook beans. Add some fat and seasoning. Mush them up over heat. They really aren’t fried or even twice fried, that’s just what we call them. The process is more like larding or confet than it is frying.
Lard and beans you’ve already fried
😂 Indeed! Mmmmm, love homemade refried beans!
