I’m not deluded or ignorant, I’m well aware such a thing wouldn’t stop the dictatorial asshat. I’m only pointing out that from a legal perspective, this wouldn’t be an “official and legal” order. Such a thing can already be said of many of the Executive Orders that have been proclaimed and signed. It’s a technicality, I know, but I’m just trying to point out another instance of the law being twisted and ignored rather then upheld.
Official = legal in this context, so if he where to try and declare war without Congress approving, it would not be an official act.
It lost steering power, not electrical power. Kinda like all the warning lights in your car turning on at once and the engine shutting down, even though the headlights are still on.
Gooooood Morning Night City!
No. Stop asking, Hollywood. Go back to making original content instead of derivative ‘IP’ drivel.
Be a librarian. I always felt like being a custodian to knowledge was a noble pursuit, and I respect librarians alot for it. I never went into the field myself because I couldn’t afford the schooling just to get a job that in my area, doesn’t pay very well. If pay wasn’t a problem? Hoo boy!

Protesting is not treason. Treason is the reason for the protests.
The way I see it, if ICE is trying to come into my home without a warrant, then they already intend for me to die. I’m a white natural born US citizen, but I’ve made my stance on kings in this country pretty clear, so a visit from the SS is a factor I have to be ready for. I’d rather die at home, taking a many of them with me as I can, then quietly allowing them to send me to a death camp, if I had to choose.
We don’t want to live here right now, but we don’t have the finances to leave. So instead, we’re going to protect our home, and continue to support and participate in the actions against tyranny that we can. Protests, pressure on other elected officials to resist as well, etc.
Edit: Besides, if evil comes to your country and knocks at your door, shouldn’t you fight it?
Enter my home without a warrant or identifying yourself, and your gonna leave in a casket.
I’ve also explained to my family that we do not open the door to anyone, especially people who claim to be cops. Way too easy to claim it, then force their way in while your waiting for them to prove who they are.
I love it! Predict that a large empire of equals will fall after 250 years.
Market myself as a powerful man of religion and/or magician, depending on the local vibe. Then use knowledge of science and tech to build myself a reclusive retreat where I can have regular baths and write books with predictions to mess with the world 650 years after I would die.
According to the articles I read about it, the gauges are a digital screen which changes to the backup camara when in reverse.
Quick summary here;
Lots of people, mostly under 25 from the looks of them, threw buckets of popcorn all over when the Chicken Jockey appeared. The movie was paused by the theater and identified offenders where escorted out.
Honestly people, just control yourselves. This is a kids movie, for crying out loud. It really screams “look at me, I’m a rebel and cool!” in only the most desperate way. I’m glad none of this happened at my local theater, we all just got to enjoy the film and share a laugh or two.
I was born at the start of the '90s, and I only got 1 point.
I agree, the nature of the convictions should be a factor. I also agree that a sort of “cooldown” from a conviction would be reasonable, before having eligibility for holding political office restored. I’ve been leary of the simplified “convicts shouldn’t hold office” statement though, since the original intention of that lack of disqualification criteria was, to my understanding, to prevent political imprisonment from barring opponents from holding office. That seems like the sort of thing the current administration would jump on if they could, as well.
I don’t have an issue with a public servant holding office and having a criminal record. People make mistakes, and people can change. However, I think the fact the current president has made public and copious comments about dismantling the democracy that exists while showing a blatant disdain for the rights of people, that I have an issue with.
Depends on the car and the parking lot, for me. When I drive my mom someplace we use her van, it’s easier for her to get in and out that way. This van has a shorter front end, and no backup camera to compensate, so I back in and pull out of spaces so I have better views as I’m moving.
When I drive my sedan with my wife and kids, I pull in to spaces and back out, because the sedan has a much longer front end and a great backup camera/radar alert system that makes backing out of spaces the safer option.
