My family told me over Christmas about a case in France where a person, while running, knocked over a pedestrian, causing them a disability and loss of earnings. Because the person at fault did not have personal liability insurance, they were required to compensate the injured party for their lost income over several years.
From what I’ve read, this seems to stem from a cultural difference. In France, it’s common to have this type of insurance, so people are more likely to pursue a claim.


Thank you. I think you’re right. I went through some Content insurance quotes, and at least it seems to be the case for Admiral, Lemonade, HomeProtect… I’m surprised it’s not as widely advertised as, say, legal assistance or even freezer contents cover 😅
