Man, Benn Jordan made an awesome video about this!

But did you see them IN PERSON? How good is your score now, uh?

I’ve never used it, but I saw it being highly recommended before https://cryptpad.org/about/

I tried the link in another browser that is not logged on lemmy and the links were there… the blog name is “apocalyptic head” and the tag “just art”, so I presume they are censoring blogspot

:O
Here they are normal so I guess it’s your instance, perhaps it censors blogspot links? try to see this post through my instance https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/64220369

A mix of artstation, instagram and devianart profiles for modern artists, a few with their own personal sites, and online galleries and art wiki for older artists… I have thousands of random art I liked saved on my HDD, and I used to share them randomly on this blog (which was a backup of a Facebook page but included content that got zucked) https://apocalyptichead.blogspot.com/search/label/%23 Just Art
(and here there’s a list of the artists I had posted so far https://apocalyptichead.blogspot.com/p/art.html - but I had thousands more pictures to post before dropping Facebook and that Google blog)

I don’t think I watched the blackface episode, but if it was an accident that caused a misunderstanding (basic comedy trope) the joke was on people being over sensitive and raging without knowing and/or purposely ignoring context of a situation (I could as easily say “if you want to do something racist, just claim it was a dark elf”). What was being criticized there became the norm, and the consequences are in this thread - people can’t say the name of that Agatha Christie’s work in the comments, nor you can have a dark elf in Community, because context doesn’t matter.
editing a day later: This was a half-assed argument, the shows did it just because it was funny. In all the cases people jumped to conclusions that were completely fair, people should be shooed for doing what the main characters were doing, but it was funny because it wasn’t on purpose, they got in a bad situation by mistake. However, the critique on this kinda of humor, and also satires and parodies that humorously references problematic stuff, because “offensive” is absolute value, is what led to “people can’t say the name of that Agatha Christie’s work in the comments, nor you can have a dark elf in Community”.

That flag episode the joke was that everything he was doing was taken the wrong way. He had accidentally set on fire a flag that was behind him and tried to put out the fire, then someone shouts “Hey, there’s a guy stomping the Puerto Rican flag!” and he is chased by a mob…
It’s like that Monk episode where he has to shake hands with a lot of people from a group and the last one is black, and right after shaking hands with the black person he cleans his hands with rubbing alcohol, so everyone thinks he is racist and everything he does in the episode just makes him look even worse - because it was taken out of context (he is a germophobe, he cleans his hands with rubbing alcohol after touching anything and anyone).

What’s wrong with the last one? Seems like a pretty standard critique of “science” as evil destroying humanity. In Brave New World they had reservations for the savages who still had religious beliefs, and it was a touristic attraction.

Oh, before “setting in”, test out all the sites you need to use regularly, because of its hardened fingerprinting protection webgl and webgpu are disable, also canvas and other scripts, and I believe they completely stripped the browser DRM checks, so some streaming services won’t work as well.

It needs a bit of fine tuning for daily use, but it’s nothing cryptic: If you don’t want to save all cookies, then you gotta add exception to sites you want to stay connected to (unless you are ok with having to login every time you enter a site). I think saving history is disabled by default, and this is quite inconvenient. You also gotta allow saving passwords if you want the browser to have them.

At one time, a man seeing a female fully naked was the equivalent of a man seeing a female today too… because, you know, everyone was fully naked all the time, clothes hadn’t been invented yet…

I’m here saying Proton has servers in 127 countries and they are widely different, so how do you decide to which ones they are “tied” (protip: They are tied to none, getting an exit node in a country benefit users from the countries next to it, and it also opens that country’s geolocked content to the world). Get a brain.

Is the word you are looking for “confirmation bias”?

Proton has servers in both Russia and Ukraine, and neither means Proton has ties with their governments. If you want to expand an Israel boycott to anyone doing business with any company from Israel then ok, but the word “ties” seems to imply some involvement or complicity with a government/regime/ideology, like they are connected to anything said place is doing.

I also always see people saying that having a coffee or a smoke helps them take a shit in the morning, because they wake up, have a coffee and cigarette and they take a shit… well, I wake up, don’t do either, and after 5-10min I take a shit too…

Where I was raised there wasn’t a taboo over coffee as a “drink for adults” (something that I learned from American movies and found quite funny). When I was a kid I’d drink coffee with milk because I didn’t care much about coffee, but nobody would bat an eye if I did… I also never understood that thing about people drinking coffee and getting energized. From what I learned, American-style coffee has about half the caffeine of the regular coffee we have here (Brazil), and not rarely I have coffee with bread or cookies before bed (if I didn’t have dinner and I’m feeling too lazy to make something). It doesn’t affect my sleep in the least and I never felt the least energized with coffee. I always thought this thing about caffeine getting you high was a joke from movies, but people in real life do seem to claim it :S (well, I do remember teens smoking oregano thinking it was pot and claiming to be high as well…)
ps: Nope, I’m not addicted to coffee. The regular breakfast here is coffee with bread and butter, but most of the time I don’t have breakfast before leaving so I don’t drink any coffee the whole day, and I go weeks without drinking it. If it isn’t to have coffee with bread, cookies or biscuits, I don’t have coffee at all.

Proton has servers in 127 countries, including Cuba, Russia, Venezuela… do they all count as ties?
So there is this guy, best friend of my father since before I was born, I knew him for my entire life. He always worked with food trucks and when I was teenager I worked with him and we would often work until 4am. All kinds of people would show up, early it would be families with kids, later people coming out of clubs and nightlife, then even later it would be cops, drunks, prostitutes, transvestites, crackheads, drug dealers… he always treated everyone equally, he’d give free hotdogs to homeless and beggars, the guy had a huge heart and everyone liked him.
Later I had moved to another city and comes Facebook. I add him, see a lot of right wing bullshit content he liked and shared, even stuff coming from openly homophobic people and it was shocking because he is gay. We have an ugly argument and I didn’t speak to him for about two years, felt like shit the whole time, kept remembering what an amazing and generous person he is, that was always up to help everyone around him. Next time I was back in town I went to his house to apologize, he said he didn’t even remember we had an argument.
People are complex as fuck, and social media got us building walls for believing they are bad for not being perfect.
