Trust me.
Citation: Your intrusive thoughts™
A quick rundown.
Basically they make a reddit account, let it age like milk. You know, keep it in the basement with 0 post history of any kind for half a year or so. Maybe multiple. Than they activate it, it spam posts, and it never responds to users like a human would. Even stealing comments and such.
Those are the main symptoms. OP not responding to being called a bot is especially the major red flag most use.
Edit: When I say OP, I’m using it to refer to reddit users in this case. Not the OP of THIS post. For him, thank you for the laughs:)
I sometimes go back to reddit to see what’s happening to it. Yup. It’s shitting itself.
Bot accounts everywhere in both comments and posts. It’s so common in fact that you just need to scroll a small post to figure out either OP or the commenter is a bot. also chugs Lemmy
Thankfully, Lemmy knows how to pump us full of bot-free content and have us asking for more.

Deny her the freedom. Listen to the intrusive thoughts and make a sauce less pineapple pizza with no cheese. Only pineapple.
What about Opera GX? The mobile and Desktop versions.
Everytime I hear “The Federation” or any mention of this being a federated community, I do be getting those “For the Empire” vibes from Star wars. I can sense a soon to be running joke cropping up
NO WAY :O
Thnx:D
Me, on Voyager seeing nothing but blue: “Allow me to introduce myself.”
Tbf. It’s not exactly the first time large companies/corporations decided to burn other companies down if legally allowed with little to no consequence when possible to reduce competition.
Which is sad, because if you never change. You’ll eventually stagnate and rot, like an apple in the sun when change does finally become forced and necessary. Either you move out of the sun and become a tree with those remaining seeds or just. Die I guess. Kind of a pathetic way to go just because of stubbornness honestly.
The one benefit of Lemmy is that you can see the total upvotes and down votes. So if a comment has 5k up votes, you’ll also see that it has 4k down votes.
Rather than 1k up votes like on reddit. This makes it far easier to see if bullshit is being spewed rather than just bot spammed up votes as often. It makes bots less effective imo. But what do I know, I’m no social media developer lmao
This. It’s why I hope we don’t have any sort of Karma system on Lemmy.
Clearly propaganda. We will never have Karma here. Only beans.
Worst case scenario, you lose your chance at wizardry at the age of 30. Keep it at all costs friend.
The magic missile and fireballs are well worth it. Especially the spell “mend buttcrack”.
