I like both overlapping windows and a sort of tiling

I use kwin-rectangle extension to bring the hotkeys used by Rectangle on MacOS onto my Linux machines

That way I can stack things, or I can use hotkeys to send the active window to a static tiled position/size. I’m a particular fan of thirds on my ultrawide

In a perfect world, operating totally on my local network I’d love if my fridge and freezer took pictures of things as I was putting them in and taking them out to automatically maintain an inventory. If it didnt require external servers, it really could be great. Hell, even if it gave me the option of local execution it could be great.

But this is the real world and we can’t gave nice things. This should never have been a failure mode at all. If the computer in these things decides to stop working, it takes fairly few things make it run like a dumb fridge. They just decided that was unacceptable, so here we are.

I have similar feelings about washers and dryers. I’d love to hook it up to my mqtt broker and get local notifications when it finishes. But there is zero reason whatsoever for it to reach the internet.

I wear a wide brimmed straw or wool hat when I’m outside. Skin cancer runs in my family. I don’t really care what other people think about it.

Honestly these days, I don’t think it’s crazy to see data collection for advertising as spying. The same system that identifies your advertising demographic can also likely identify political enemies.

Chicken is my favorite protein. It can be used in so many different ways. I can buy a whole bird, break it down in a couple minutes, and use the carcass for stock to make soup, gravy, sauces, etc.

Can you get bargain bin chicken that tastes like nothing? Absolutely. But that’s not the chicken’s fault, it’s how we raise, process and package them.

I just inhale normally when I spray. I can often feel some of it reaching my sinus. Also, my experience with Flonase has been that it needs to be used regularly for a short period to reach peak effectiveness

I always start with nasal irrigation. For most of the year, nasal irrigation has eliminated my medication usage for allergies.

When it’s not enough, I use flonase, but I think my sinuses mainly get irritated with prolonged exposure. Rinsing the pollen out has helped dramatically

It definitely isn’t as graceful in the every day experience, but keeping a profile with resist fingerprinting disabled has helped the few times I need to get past turnstiles and whatnot that otherwise loop

It really is a shame that it’s come to this rock paper scissors war between the server’s usage, the user’s experience, and privacy. Currently privacy is what has been cut in favor of the other two. You have to work to maintain privacy now

I really like what I see, but why does the Android app need google play services to have camera permissions to scan UPCs?
