I started getting this after I got diagnosed with diabetes, because I started eating way less junk food, so my salt intake went down. My blood pressure is usually on the low end now. It’s annoying, and I’ve talked to my doctor about it but she mostly said to drink more water.

We’re on Metric time already, the base unit of measure for time in the Metric system is the second. This is decimal time.
sexybenfranklin@ttrpg.networkto Technology@lemmy.world•This is the technology worth trillions of dollars huhEnglish5·9 days agoIt’s more likely that Connecticut comes alphabetically after Colorado in the list of state names and the number of data sets it used for training that were lists of states were probably abover the average, so the model has a higher statistical weight for putting connecticut after colorado if someone asks about a list of states
sexybenfranklin@ttrpg.networkto Technology@lemmy.world•This is the technology worth trillions of dollars huhEnglish6·9 days agoIt’s funny seeing the list and knowing connecticut is only there because it’s alphabetically after colorado (in fact all four listed appear in that order alphabetically) because they probably scraped so many lists of states that the alphabetical order is the statistically most probable response in their corpus when any state name is listed.

Yes, you’re just using the wrong term. Entropy isn’t chaos, it’s a measure of how much energy has been lost to irreversible processes such that the energy can no longer be used to do work. You can’t undo pulling the tree branch into its component pieces, the process is irreversible.

A process increasing entropy in a system doesn’t have to be natural.
Really? Because a tree losing a limb or having all its needles fall off would definitely be considered an irreversible process and absolutely an increase in entropy in a thermodynamic system

I’m assuming the misconception comes from the last time it was a 100th also being a 1000th (2000) but the next time a leap year will end in 00 is 2400
sexybenfranklin@ttrpg.networkto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•HR people smiling at you thinking that you are a complete moronEnglish36·1 month agoI got laid off about five and a half years ago, at the start of Covid. The meeting was with my manager and his boss (who I was also friendly with). I got a meeting invite and asked if we could push it back an hour so I could drive my wife to work, they said sure. I told my wife on the drive that I was getting laid off. Sure enough, I was. They paid me five weeks severance and gave me resources to file for unemployment. It was due to Covid causing a huge drop in money coming in, which was understandable. Honestly, I didn’t like my job, I had already hired a company to rewrite my resumé. So it worked out. At least my boss and his boss had the spine to do it personally. I’ll always give them credit for that.
I don’t know if you have Kroger near you (or one of their subsidiaries) but the Carbmaster brand they sell is good, and only comes out to 3 grams of carbs per 240ml (8oz glass), which is half of what fairlife has. I started buying it when I got diagnosed diabetic. I don’t eat much cereal anymore but when I do, the milk still tastes good.
God bless ya, I tried drinking unsweetened almond milk after I got diagnosed diabetic and I thought my taste buds stopped working because it tasted like nothing. Not in the way that water “tastes like nothing,” but like, in a way where the only stimulus I got was mouthfeel. It was weird.
