Trump is winning all these states and look at the percentages. How?

Edit: many news agency are calling PA for Trump. So we are truly fucked.

This is a legitimate question for those that know an honest answer.

I have no degree, neither does my wife. How the FUCK do we get out of this country to somewhere better?!

      • Ireland and Italy offer citizenship by descent, but it is a long process
      • The Netherlands and the US have a treaty called DAFT that allows you to start a business in NL
      • France offers a self employment visa
      • Check skill shortage lists for countries of interest - almost all European countries need skilled trades, truck drivers, etc. that wouldn’t require a degree
      • Study abroad; it’s possible you could apply and receive funding for a degree since many countries have free education + work study arrangements for your living expenses
      • Teach English abroad
      • Look at international NGOs, you could possibly get hired as an admin/etc. without a degree but that might be a stretch

I certainly want to go back to school. I’d like to learn how to design circuit boards and the like, rather than just fix 'em like I currently do for work. I know it’s a lot of work, but I’m passionate about it.

If you’re serious about this. You don’t need a degree. You would need some sort of financial buffer for the transition.

You can teach english or maybe even find a mid-level job (by local standards) leveraging your english skills in globalized areas like outsourcing (experience with sales or some sort of client facing would help).

I would not go through with this unless you’re actually committed (perhaps even beyond Trump; looking for something novel in life). You’ll need to learn the local language if you are serious about this.

Finances will be sorted before long. I have a hell of an inheritance incoming. I’ve been learning French because I wanted to visit France one day, though I’ve got family moving to Canada for work (He helped found a company based in Toronto) and it would be nice to live nearby to family.

I do have a grandfathered lifetime CompTIA A+ cert and plenty of experience soldering, though no IPC certs yet.

Good stuff! Canada is a great place to live. Montreal is my favourite city in North America (unfortunately have only been to one city in Mexico).

Do it. I’ve been traveling around my whole. It’s a strange, but rewarding experience.

          Good luck to you man!

The first time it was sort of like “Holy shit. They won?” and there were adults and career bureaucrats in the room that limited some of the damage. Even though it was still really bad. A million plus people died in the USA because of covid being politicized. Now, he’s been prosecuted and found guilty for all the illegal shit he did while in office, so for them it was win or die in jail. And additionally, they’ve now got Project 2025/Agenda 47 (theyrethesamepicture.jpg) and years of preparation as to how to do the most damage. They’ve also shown that they are willing to undo decades of legal and historical precedent with their repeal of Roe v Wade. So yes. We “survived”, but he irreparably damaged the country once before, and now he’s back for round two. There’s a high likelihood there will be no meaningful resistance as over 2/3rds of the country tacitly (through non voting) or actively supports this administration.

Climate change? That’s gonna get a lot worse. Ukraine Aid? That’s gone. Protection for LGBTQ And marriage equality? Likely gone.

They have promised a massive dragnet deportation scheme where red state national guard will invade blue states and kidnap their residents to be deported without any proper training to know who is legal or not.

And that’s just day 1. So no. It’s not looking great.

Additionally Trump has dementia and doesn’t seem to know how tariffs work so the economy will probably be fucked again (remember those 4 am Mcdonald’s Hamberder shit tweets that tanked global markets at random?). Vance will eventually be president when Trump is too far gone and who knows what that kooky bastard will do.

Also, they didn’t even need to cheat. Dems didn’t turn out, and now the republicans have control of the house, the senate, the supreme court (for generations now no less), and the presidency. So the American public has given these lunatics a mandate.
