    European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has proposed a plan to loosen budget rules so countries that are willing can spend much more on defense. Her proposal is underpinned by 150 billion euros ($162 billion) worth of loans to buy priority military equipment.

    I hope it’s not from the US.

      It’s up to the member states, but even Orbán bought German when he wanted to suck up to Trump.

      There are a few blind spots in the European MIC, but money like this would enable countries to fund the FCAS project rather than just duct-tape the issue by buying F-35s.
