Me when playing Balatro
What’s Exodia?
Not much, what’s Exodia with you?
Yu-gi-oh cards. Playing all 5 parts of Exodia results in an immediate win. Things were simpler back then.
You don’t have to play them, all five have to be in your hand to trigger the win condition. You just reveal them once you have them all (and there’s no current “chain” of plays in effect)
Things were simpler back then.
All I know about the game came from watching the first season (arc?) and a coworker who tried to explain newer things. I feel like you could earn a doctorate in the game with the convoluted rules. Need a magnifying glass for reading the text on the cards anymore.
i only ever saw that one arc as well, what has apparently later been dubbed “season zero” because there wasn’t any card games in it. that was something they apparently came up with on the fly and it just stuck around. the writers didn’t know anything about tcgs so the rules make no sense.
that first season is wild though, with the protagonist just challenging bad people to random games of chance with gruesome outcomes like “because you are greedy, i challenge you to stab through this wad of cash lying on top of your hand. you get to keep every dollar you pick up but if you’re too greedy you’ll nail your hand to the table”
No season zero is the anime that came before the one 4kids dubbed, completely different. Season 1 of the 4 kids dubbed anime is while the rules of the card game was still getting worked out so it was more of a fantasy show than a representation of the tcg. Also Yu-Gi-Oh started as a manga and “season zero” is a more acurate representation since the pharoh was literaly the king of ALL games.
oh i’ve never seen the 4kids dub at all, i’m not american.
Don’t worry, the first season is basicly a fantasy show, you literaly can target a part of card to make it crash…
look, all i want to know is when i get my free island for playing children’s card games
Gracias amigo!
I know that dude. It was actually used in one of the few Yu-Gi-Oh episodes I watched.
