this is not humor

It’s called sarcasm…
You mean reality.

This you?
Not just me.
Because you have to actually do something to make the government spend it on you. You can’t just sit behind a screen and type angrily. You have to personally show up and engage politically, economically and culturally to force the power structure to work for you. Bernie is right there trying to do that for you and Americans refused him.
Yes and no. Engaging won’t do shit. We need to organize into unions, separate from work, to cooperate on what we agree on, left and right, as defined currently from inside the colon of the oligarchy. We need to go straight back into the sun, then get our bearings. Reject labels, organize.
Yes it does do shit, relative to how good you get at doing it. The impact is real. Sure groups of people will be needed to get significant changes but every single person thinking their participation doesn’t do anything is why everyone stays disengaged. Show up even if others don’t, until others do. Getting people to engage is also worth of engaging.
M. Night: also, it’s your fucking money
There’s just not enough money for everyone to get bombs.
I challenge this assumption. Nuclear alone could end humanity and megafauna for millions of years until something new evolves from extremophiles.
Edit: ~ 12,000 nukes worldwide. Most by US and Russia with 5k each. I’m not up on my math since the cold war, but that still seems excessive for purpose. MAD is like “I will scorth the entire earth before I let you win.”
China’s #3 count at 600 seems positively peaceful by comparison, though is still horrific overpower.
Solving climate change with nuclear winter is not what I was hoping for.
I thought they meant it in a cheeky way, like in a “only the military is allowed to have bombs because they didn’t bring enough for the whole class” kinda sense.
Me too. My post is what we in the business call an anti-joke vibe killer. Bit of a truth based cynical pimp slap. Disrespectful, provocative, mostly true, hurts.
one fired AA gun salvo costs roughly as much as rebuilding a school or hiring 5 teachers for a year :)
… They just noticed you don’t enlist if you have better options.
SPEND IT OR LOSE IT AMIRITE
3 free dollars for everyone, thrown to blow up a handful of people elsewhere.
A billion dollars gives us a few bucks per person.
I’ll take $3/day gladly. And there are lots of people who could use that a lot more than me.
And if it was only that, I’d be okay with someone who needed it more getting my share.
I’m not American, but that’s like a good 7.5% of my expenses. That’s significant
Over 10% of my income, too
If they gave everyone $3/day, the price of necessities like food and rent would go up accordingly.
It could literally be used on anything else and it would be better than what it’s being used on currently. We could burn the cash and gain more use from the ashes.
The pentagon spent 93 billion on crab legs and furniture.
So rather killing other people with these dollars?
Every person. A few bucks. Each day. If you only gave to those who need, that would be more than a few.
In fact, it might put back the money that has driven that exact percentage of people into poverty in the first place, like a missing puzzle piece.
A few bucks per person would be better than spending it blowing up schools and killing children. If they just took the billion dollars and burnt it, it would be better for everyone overall, never mind spending it on public services or things that would directly help people.
$500, isn’t it? Or my math is wrong?
How many people in the US make $500 a day? (~180k an year)
Hey, any amount of gas money helps.
Every US citizen is a starving renter with health fragility?
