He’s a “supporter” in the sense that he’s friendly towards Trump. He didn’t endorse him, though, because he was running for president himself.

I’m still a bit icky on him though in that the song he did about the female cop raised a few homophobia and transphobia alarms. When all the other cops are getting diss tracks based on unplugging his video or looking at a lemon pound cake, why is she getting 13 min on the implication that she eats pussy and has a bigger hog than afroman?

(Obviously not saying he deserved his house raided with no due cause — only that I’m not sure he’s a nice guy necessarily)

I thought Mother Jones had a really good take on this. This isn’t about who he is as a person.

…Afroman, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, does not need to be an undeniably good person for people to embrace the outcome of the case: a measure of accountability for institutional wrongdoing. When victims are forced to speak out to try to spotlight abuses against them, the onus does not fall on them to represent any moral standard.

Yep, I certainly agree. We can celebrate justice being done without unequivocally celebrating him as a person.

But around the same time, Afroman confused fans with comments about possibly performing at Trump rallies. In an interview, he said he might perform his song ‘Hunter Got High’ at such events, suggesting it could help revive his career. Even though he did not explicitly endorse Trump, the idea of performing at rallies blurred the line for many supporters. It seemingly created the impression that he was at least open to aligning himself with Trump’s audience. https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/afroman-defamation-case-political-musical-journey-1787071
