No. I was at the library one time looking to check out a Wheel of Time book, but they didn’t have the one I needed. But in that area were Robert Jordan books called The Conan Chronicles. I quite liked them, and they really showed off how Conan was really intelligent. I thought barbarians had to be dumbass warriors.

I don’t remember how Robert Jordan’s versions came about. I think he got paid to write them.

De camp and Carter finished up the series from Howard from his original manuscripts and notes. A bunch of other writers have done books with the characters as well.

When I was a young teen I was at the library looking for a new book to read. I walked over to the paperback spinners and saw a Conan book. I was intrigued, as at the time I only knew if Conan from the movie. I checked it out, and it turned out to be a soft core porn book.

I never read another Conan book for many, many years.

The comic book was softcore porn? As far as I know Savage Sword of Conan was not published under the comics code, so it was released as a magazine so that’s why they didnt have much restrictions on what to put in it, but I would say it was more violent than softcore porn!
