    I am continually impressed that Ukraine never goes after soft civilian mass casualty targets despite having plenty of capability at this point, even as Russia does exactly that over and over again.

      Waste of weaponry in terms of fighting a war. Ukraine chose a target that would be a severe bottleneck and focused on it.

      Early in the war, back when Russia was throwing thermobaric rounds into…IIRC it was Mariupol…torching large areas, I remember commenting, saying “there may come a time when you will be short of munitions and regret having expended those munitions like that”.

        maybe. but the idea is to kowtow the citizenry and have them wanting peace… at any price.
