You got any more jpeg artifacts for me?
I kept trying to clean my glasses
Yup, I’ve got loads of them out the back.
Seems like something drawn up by a soft southerner.
My thoughts exactly
Anyone who includes Fife and Dundee as having a stuck up and pretentious accent is either deaf or geographically challenged
Yeah, my sister-in-law’s family are from Dundee. I can definitely confirm that.
They clearly meant to get Edinburgh (although that also implies they’ve never been to Edinburgh) but went too wide.
My mum was born in Dundee. When she went to work on the switchboard at the gas company as a teenager, the very first thing they did was send her to an elocution class to get rid of the Dundee accent 😂
To her dying day, she still answered the phone like Hyacinth Bucket
I once answered the phone when “Granny” rang, scared the life out of me.
Landscapes - somebody’s never been to the Yorkshire Dales have they
Or the Pennines or the Lake District or…
Landscapes is totally wrong
As a Canadian I’m not entirely sure what region it is that “punches horses” but it got a chuckle out of me.
Newcastle - happened at a football game some years ago
You can instantly tell it’s Newcastle without knowing the exact point on the map, because it’s the same place that is “shirtless”
Wait, that actually happened?? Hahaha I feel bad for laughing though, poor horse.
Back in 2013 - there’s video of it.
The horse was fine and died at the age of 21 after a pleasant retirement.
Wow thanks for the link! It seemed too ridiculous to be true, but I’m not surprised it was a drunk sports fan 🤦♀️
And no-one in the UK is surprised it was a Newcastle fan!
😂
As an American, is Newcastle yalls Florida?
Think more Maine than Florida. Cold dark winters with lots of beer and whiskey.
The “potential imminent violence” accents got me laughing.
As a resident of Southampton, I take issue with Portsmouth being deemed enlightened, while we’re considered savages. That’s entirely the wrong way round.
I saw the bakeries one first - fooled me into thinking this was sincere haha
I was very confused by the shape of this United Kingdom. For reference, this is what it + the non-UK part of Ireland actually looks like:
I’m guessing, they left out all the islands, but even then, it still doesn’t look terribly accurate to me, so no idea…
Edit: Added clarification about Southern Ireland.
Careful what you call United Kingdom! They left out Ireland because it’s not part of UK
Ah yeah, good point. I was very confused by Southern Ireland missing on their map, too, but my comment made it sound like that’s part of the UK.
You also want to be careful using terms like ‘Southern Ireland’. Northern Ireland is a thing, and the Republic of Ireland is a thing…
Yes, I decided to call it “Southern Ireland”, because I doubt many people outside of Europe will know which one of the two Irelands is the “Republic of Ireland”.
I did look up beforehand, if I’m allowed to say “Southern Ireland” without being crucified and Wikipedia said
yesmaybe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Ireland
Wow, that dam between northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland has really come along in this better map. United Kingdom is great Britain and northern Ireland, for reference.
They rotated it slightly to get the south coast more horizontal and binned off most islands (the Shetlands and Orkneys I can understand but the Isle of Man wasn’t in the way).so they could pack more into the space.

Post-industrial depression landscape in the Cumbrian mountains? Or Yorkshire? The Pennines?
I know. 12 maps, 0 correct.
I didn’t really enjoy this.
Sorry. Hanging head in shame, etc. I found it mildly entertaining how grossly wrong it was on every single level.
I enjoyed it, they need to lighten up.
I still looked at it, that’s content creation baby.
I’ve never known Fife and Dundonian accents to be described as ‘pretentious’.
Dundonian accent is mad. It’s probably the most out there. Like Russian or baltic.
I disagree, but whatever. You need to spend more regional time around Scotland.
What are you disagreeing with ? I lived in Edinburgh for 25 years. 4 years in Dundee. I’ve been to most Scottish cities. Easy Coast and west I haven’t really visited and none of the islands. No higher than Inverness. Never been to ullapool or however it’s spelt.
Ok fair enough. Maybe my 25 years in Dundee and 2 years in Edinburgh inured me to the accent.
Who knows. I met very few Dundonians. Mostly people from Edinburgh. But the ones I did meet had mad accents. Maybe it was just them
How could you spend 4 years on Dundee and not meet many Dundonians?
Exactly.
Where were they?
The pubs the clubs the shops. Everyone. They all were from outside Dundee.
We lived in the city centre for 2 years and all the days were filled with students. Was wild.
Divisive meme is divisive? I assumed it was just a too big bubble for Edinburgh
Yeah. I think they just made it too big for Edinburgh, as you say.
But to be honest, most of the folk I know fae the ‘burgh are nae posh.
Mostly attacking Scotland and anywhere that isn’t london. Shite.
Accents are a million so not a good way to divide.
Also whoever did this. Do you think Scot’s sit around eating haggis all day drinking whiskey and playing the bagpipes ?
A child perhaps or London knob. Racist
Can you point to where the map hurt you?
It pokes fun at londoners just as much as northerners. In fact, id say it’s crueller to the south west and Wales than anywhere.
Where does it poke fun at Londoners ? It’s just stereotypes to most places.
Yes it’s stereotypes.
The London stereotype here is where London is referenced: Funny accents. Suburban sprawl. Craft beer types Islam fundamentalists.
Funny accents is everywhere. Suburban sprawl. Everywhere.
Islam extremes.
Everywhere.
Yes, as are all the other traits. It’s the stereotype or how common they are that is being poked fun at here.
Per your comparison, most of Scotland is not urban sprawl, even if it exists there.
Define Scotland. Largest populations will be urban scrawl. Glasgow Edinburgh, other
Lol, yes, but most of Scotland is not urban sprawl. Most of the southeast between London and Brighton is.
It says the landscape of Yorkshire, The Lake District, and The Dales is, post industrial.
Has this person never been outside of London? It just sounds like who doesn’t actually know what they’re talking about.
I like that you think the poster submitted original content.
Did you know that in London, there are people from the other regions of the UK and also from overseas. It’s a mass generalisation. The map uses ellipses and circles.
Don’t take it too seriously.
Do you think Scot’s sit around eating haggis all day drinking whiskey and playing the bagpipes ?
Of course. All while wearing kilts and tossing tree trunks.
I assumed the whole thing was designed to offend absolutely everyone.
I think it might not have been entirely serious, mate.
I think racist comments aren’t meant to be serious. Doesn’t change the outcome.
I grasp that but I don’t find it amusing. It’s just crap stereotypes.
Maybe try a bit harder next time. Something original. Maybe something about Scot’s being tightfisted or shagging sheep. Something brand new
