Used a racial slur a decade ago?
I’d bet my life savings that he used a racial slur this morning if it weren’t for the fact there’s no way his fat ass is up at 7:30 a.m. on a Tuesday.

Yeah…… for the people that will vote for Trump “used a slur in the 90s” isn’t the grand reveal they think it is.

Older people tend to wake up earlier, and he is really fucking old. Isn’t it weird his old ass is running for president?

I understand he’s the oldest presidential nominee, EVER!
There should be age limits! 70 or 75 at the oldest!

Ridiculous that a guy that old can be president! Bill Clinton was president 25 years ago, and is still younger!!

While I do think there are people who could be great presidents into their 80s mentally, the stresses of the job and how rapidly things change does lend itself to a need for an age cap.

No more than 70 as of the day they would take office sounds good to me as they would leave before their 75th birthday plus it is double the minimum of 35 do it would be easy to remember!

The same could be apllied to the chain of succession. If over 70 on the day they would be swirn in it passes to the next person.

We need to get back to the idea of people retiring. no one should be able to run for or be appointed office if over age 60 and if their term would go beyond 65 then the term is shortened to the year of the their 65th an election is held for the office (or new appointment)

Even though I think 60 is a good age for people to be able to retire, I also think that 60 is low for forced retirement.

The really shitty thing is that it wasn’t that many decades ago that it was considered completely normal to say the N-word. Apparently, when my mom and her friends were children, they used to only know the older racist version of eeny, meeny, miny, moe.

I’m not saying this to excuse Trump’s or anyone else’s current or recent behavior. What I’m saying is that this should be considered far more scary than people are treating it. Yes, there is still a racial class system in the United States, but there are a significant number of Americans willing to roll things back to a considerably worse time.

And figuring out the road map to a pre-Civil Rights era really wouldn’t be that hard considering that nearly 20% of voter-aged Americans are older than the civil rights act.

The next time someone tells you that racism is dead or downplays ongoing racism, remind them even some of our most progressive leaders took shockingly dark stances on promoting civil rights DECADES after the CRA had already been established.

Even our (hopefully) next president was around 6 years old when George Wallace, the “segregation now, segregation tomorrow” guy, circulated an ad showing a white girl surrounded by seven black boys, with the slogan “Wake Up Alabama! Blacks vow to take over Alabama.”.

“Trump said a racist thing back when it was more normal to say racist shit,” is a good attempt at character assassination for someone who has character left to assassinate, unlike Trump. Definitely don’t ignore these kinds of stories, but focus on Trump’s goals and the goals of the Conservatives willing to prop him up as their Popularist candidate. Trump is just part of a system that’s trying to turn back the clock at least 60 years, if not 200 years.

Yes, we need to focus on defeating Trump before the next election, but we can’t stop fighting if we win. We’ll never be able to stop people who believe that slavery is a reasonable means to win at capitalism, but we can still push them back a little bit longer.

Wow, this got way more ranty than I expected. Sorry about that…

they used to only know the older racist version of eeny, meeny, miny, moe.

      Just found these ones interesting:

There are considerable variations in the lyrics of the rhyme, including from the early twentieth century in the United States of America:.[3]

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers make him pay, Fifty dollars every day

During the Second World War, an AP dispatch from Atlanta, Georgia reported that Atlanta children were heard reciting this version:[15]

Eenie, meenie, minie, moe, Catch the emperor by his toe. If he hollers make him say: “I surrender to the USA.”

Also you can forget Kramer’s outburst. He’s not that old. *75, kinda old.

Does it help if I say “it’s the version that substitutes ‘tiger’ with a word that rhymes with the name of the tiger from Winnie the Pooh”?

Also, Michael Richards quickly destroying his career by punching down a decade before Dave Chappelle turned his image into a confusing dumpster fire over the years is just further proof of the white man getting more recognition with less effort than a poc. /s

I really wish I hadn’t looked at Michael Richards’s Wikipedia page. Seeing how much continued work and recognition he’s had made me really sad.

The super racist one my dad used to say is

        eeny, meeny, miny, moe

Catch a [slur for black people] by his toe

If he hollers let him go

        Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
