• 9/6 — Death acknowledged by jail officials
“It’s unclear why the sheriff’s office remained quiet about the death until Wednesday afternoon.”
Can we get trump in holding there, please?
They give themselves ~one per month, just to ease the tension and lighten the mood a little.
Their plan to deal with overcrowding in jails for people who can’t afford bond is to send them four or five hours away? Doesn’t that make it ridiculously difficult for someone to arrange legal representation or be able to make court dates in the original jurisdiction? If they can’t afford bond, would their family members even be able to go there for visitation?
Making any defense more difficult, adding to inmates’ desperation by making visitation more and more rare — these are advantages, not drawbacks, to jail and police officials.
